The Institute of the Motor Industry Battery Fitting Course

The IMI Battery Fitting course is a 2 day course aimed at technicians involved with battery testing and replacement.  Candidates must have a minimum of 3 months practical battery fitting experience and possess good communication skills.

Successful candidates will receive an IMI Quality Approved Award in Battery Fitting. This award is recognised throughout the motor industry and will count as a credit towards the nationally recognised Technical Certificate in Vehicle Fitting as well as forming part of the Vehicle Fitting NVQ.

Course Content: Practical

• Battery and charging system inspection and testing
• Battery removal, charging and replacement

IMI assessment and test       

• A multi-choice theory question paper
• Three practical assessments, observed by an IMI approved assessor.
