entyrety has teamed up with the Learning Skills Council to offer a Foundation Modern Apprenticeship (FMA) in Vehicle Fitting. N.S.V.Q. (The National or Scottish Vocational Qualification) The National or Scottish Vocational Qualification consists of mandatory and optional units against two routes. The N.S.V.Q is work based assessed by qualified assessors and requires the candidate to collect documentary evidence in the form of a portfolio to support their claim to competence in addition to assessor observations, which confirm competence. Each unit, when complete, can be individually accredited by the awarding body (City & Guilds). Each unit consists of practical elements and underpinning knowledge requirements, both which must be completed and verified internally and externally before certification can be awarded. Technical Certificates The Technical Certificate is the "taught element"of the FMA and replaces the underpinning knowledge of requirements for the N.S.V.Q. They consist of mandatory and optional units. Each subject is covered as an individual element and certified by the awarding body accordingly. (Institute of the Motor Industry) The Technical Certificate tests consist of 50% theory. Candidates must achieve a minimum pass mark of 80% Key Skills Key skills consist of the essential life skills of Application of Number, Communication and Information Technology. The FMA requires these skills are undertaken at level 1 and consist of a portfolio of evidence and a formal test. Tests are currently offered in two formats, The options are - Paper based tests
